While most companies struggle through navigating company culture on their own, there are many thought leaders who work on establishing and improving company culture while sharing their progress with the world.
Here are a few of those amazing companies as well as their blogs, podcasts and our recommendations for the best content you can read and listen to on their sites.
1. Buffer’s culture blog
There are many noteworthy things about Buffer. They’re fully remote, they’re successful, they have amazing retreats (some of which we’ve hosted ourselves) and they’re transparent about each detail of how their company works.
Recommended reading: The story of how Buffer came to earn over half a million dollars of annual revenue with Buffer Analyze. Whether you’re into SaaS, analytics or just learning about how a lean, distributed team achieves success, this is an excellent read.
2. The Peakon blog
In case you haven’t heard of them before, the guys at Peakon built an awesome product for employee engagement. They’re extremely devoted to making their employees happy and satisfied with their work and with five offices across the world and a large number of remote employees, they support a strong company culture backed by great values.
Recommended reading: Check out the story of Zappos or just about any other post on their blog. The Peakon staff writes extensively about great examples of workplace culture and related HR topics and there’s plenty of quality reading material on their blog, including posts from guest authors and more.
3. The blog at Bob
It’s no wonder that companies with HR-related products have strong company culture. Bob is a comprehensive HR solution to handle all of your administrative tasks like onboarding and more. At the same time, you can work on your company culture, through features such as the club or superpower tools.

4. The Eloomi blog
This SaaS HR company was launched in 2015 and to this day, they’ve grown their team to more than 60 employees, based in two offices (Copenhagen and London) as well as remotely, scattered across 25 different countries.

5. The blog and podcast at 15Five
When he set out to learn more about a reporting practice called 15/5 back in 2011, David Hassell had no idea that he was about to make HR history with his new project. 15Five lets you track your team’s performance and key metrics without clogging up your daily work with reports and meetings.

Once again almost every post on the 15Five blog is a valuable resource on company culture. From insightful listicles to inside peeks into life at the company, there’s great content everywhere you look. There’s also a podcast called Best Self Management, where they discuss matters important to company culture and growth. The episode regarding remote retreats is where we’d suggest you start and then try moving on to some of the older episodes.
6. The HelpScout blog
There aren’t too many SaaS companies as loved as HelpScout. This piece of software lets businesses communicate better with their customers through live chat and email, and they also have amazing company culture.
They have a company headquarters in Boston, but the majority of the HelpScout team works remotely in one of 60 locations around the world and they build and strengthen culture through retreats that happen twice each year.
