Organizing our retreat through Surf Office took away of lot of the stress of having to organize a huge event for many people, and made the whole process slicker and quicker than it would’ve been if we’d done it on our own.

Recently, their team, who is spread across Europe, came together for the company’s second annual retreat in Costa Brava, Spain. Here’s how it went.
The second annual Bumper offsite was organized over three days in mid-June, with team members gathering on the glorious coast of Platja d’Aro to re-energize, reconnect and enjoy some amazing food and vitamin D along the way.
Having nearly doubled in size since 2022, the company was seeking an opportunity to bring their team together, in-person, with the goal of strengthening relationships, celebrating recent wins and setting goals for the months to come.
On the first morning each department had the opportunity to present their accomplishments over the last six months, sharing the highlights of what they’ve been working on and detailing their plans for the remainder of the year. The afternoon was all about team bonding.
Under the collaborative leadership of Alex from the Surf Office team and orchestrated by Laura from Bumper, a series of engaging team-building activities was thoughtfully planned, making sure there was something for every interest and adventure-level. The Bumper team participated in kayaking in the sea, cycling through medieval villages and even a wine tasting, complete with perfect weather and a scenic view.
Day two of the retreat featured a morning of open work time for team members to brainstorm, plan and collaborate face-to-face, followed by a few hours of free time to chill by the pool, explore town or recharge at the beach. And later on? The team regrouped for a surprise final activity that was guaranteed to end the getaway on an unforgettable note — a catamaran trip featuring a live DJ and the chance to swim in the Balearic Sea!
It was the perfect way to celebrate a year of success, continued growth and a team that works hard to make it all happen. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year when the Bumper team comes together for retreat number three!
